Product Description:

The AirLink MP890 is an ultra rugged, fully-featured in-vehicle communications and location

platform with multiple peripheral connections including serial, Ethernet and USB. A robust ARM9

processor, 3G wireless connectivity and high speed connectors (10/100 RJ-45 Ethernet and USB)

enable high speed 2-way communications.

Due to decade of reliable performance, MP modems have been and continue to be the product of

choice for public safety and law enforcement organizations throughout North America. With the

addition of a Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g access point the MP890 surpasses all other rugged, remote

connectivity devices on the market. Designed to withstand the harshest conditions, the MP890 meets

Mil-Spec 810-F and SAE for shock, vibe, extreme temperatures, salt/fog rain/splash and sand/dust.

The AirLink MP890 is powered by ALEOS, the embedded intelligence available only on the Sierra

Wireless line of AirLink devices. In addition to simplifying set-up, ensuring network connection

management, and empowering remote management through the AirLink suite of management tools,

ALEOS features data security and is embedded with a sophisticated exception based events

reporting engine. By utilizing an intuitive user interface a fleet administrator can select what data to

collect and have the information sent via several methods, including e-Mail and SMS.

Key Target Markets and Applications:

• Public Safety (Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue)

o Example: MP890 installed in police cruiser and wirelessly connected to a rugged

laptop. Provides an officer with high-speed, persistent connectivity to vital databases.

• Emergency Response Teams

o Example: MP890 installed in an emergency response vehicle to provide 802.11

access to first responders during an emergency response situation. Enables up to 10

communication devices to be connected to internet and private databases.

• Field Service (Utilities, Service and Repair)

o Example: MP890 installed in service and repair vehicle for 3G mobile data and

location. Allows service technician to take Wi-Fi enabled laptop into customer’s

homes and connect to internet over Wi-Fi 802.11 Wireless Access Point.
